Product selection

Choose the underwear silhouette around fit, use case and sales channel

A product name is only the starting point for an OEM/ODM brief. Rise, leg length, pouch shape, fabric recovery, waistband tension and packaging determine how the finished style wears and how it should be sampled. Pashiongarment helps brands turn a reference, tech pack or early concept into documented product decisions before bulk production.

Men's briefs

Briefs suit everyday basics, compact retail packs and collections that prioritize freedom of movement. Define the rise, side-seam width, leg opening, pouch construction and binding method. Cotton-spandex and other soft stretch knits are common starting points, but the selected weight and recovery should be confirmed on the intended pattern.

Boxer briefs

Boxer briefs balance coverage and support for core private label programs. Key decisions include inseam length, front panel or pouch shape, gusset, side seam, leg finish and waistband attachment. Fit approval should check riding, leg opening pressure, pouch comfort and measurement recovery after wear.

Men's trunks

Trunks use a shorter leg and a compact proportion that works for fashion, premium basics and multipacks. Because the leg is short, fabric recovery and hem tension are especially important. Confirm rise, side length, pouch volume and waistband width together instead of approving each component separately.

Performance and long-leg options

Performance underwear may combine nylon or polyester stretch fabrics, ventilation panels, supportive construction and low-bulk seams. Long-leg boxer briefs require additional attention to inseam, panel balance and leg stability. Functional claims such as moisture management should be linked to an agreed material specification or test method rather than assumed from a fabric name.

Specification control

What buyers should confirm before requesting a production quotation

A comparable quotation needs more than a product photo. Include the target market, size range, quantity by color, fabric preference, waistband design, logo method, labeling, packaging and delivery expectation. Where details remain open, state the intended price position and customer so suitable development options can be reviewed.

Material and color

Record composition, target weight, knit structure, stretch direction, color reference and any required test standard. Stock material may support early fit development, while custom knitting, dyeing or finishing can introduce separate supplier minimums and approval steps.

Fit and construction

Provide a measurement chart or reference sample where possible. Document seam type, pouch, gusset, binding, hem, waistband attachment and tolerance expectations. Each silhouette should have its own approved sample even when several products share fabric or branding.

Branding and packing

Confirm waistband artwork, care label, main label, heat transfer, hangtag, polybag or box, barcode and carton assortment. Packaging dimensions should be checked against the approved folded garment before bulk components are printed.

Sample approval and bulk quality checkpoints

Use sampling to close measurable decisions: garment measurements, fit comments, material reference, waistband tension, logo placement and packaging. Before bulk production, retain the approved sample and specification version. Production checks can then compare material shade, cutting, sewing, measurements, symmetry, waistband recovery, final appearance and packing against a shared reference.

Review the sample development process, compare underwear fabric options or prepare a structured request through the OEM/ODM quotation form.

Buyer questions

Can several underwear styles share the same fabric and waistband?

Often they can, provided the material performance, color and branding suit each pattern. Every silhouette still needs its own fit and construction approval.

Can product development start from a reference sample?

Yes. A reference sample can communicate proportion and construction direction. Requested changes, measurements, materials and branding should still be documented before production.

Which product details have the greatest effect on MOQ?

Custom fabric or color, waistband artwork, packaging components, number of colors and the way quantities are divided by style can all affect the workable starting quantity.
