Performance underwear should begin with a specific use case: daily active wear, running, gym training, travel or warm-climate comfort. Each use case creates different priorities for stretch, drying behavior, breathability, support, seam bulk and leg stability. We help sports and lifestyle buyers define these requirements before material sourcing and sample development.
Fabric and ventilation choices
Nylon-spandex and polyester-spandex fabrics are common where smooth stretch and quick moisture transfer are desired. Mesh can be used selectively for ventilation, but panel location, opacity and seam comfort need review. A soft fabric name alone does not prove performance; weight, stretch, recovery, dimensional stability and any required testing method should be written into the brief.
Garment construction may include a supportive pouch, ergonomic side panels, flatlock or low-bulk seams and a longer leg. Every added panel can improve function or create unnecessary complexity, so the prototype should be tested against the intended movement.
Fit for movement
Review rise, pouch support, inseam, leg opening and waistband tension while the sample is worn in motion. A static measurement check is necessary but cannot reveal riding, rolling or pressure points. Buyer wear trials should use the target size set and document repeatable comments.
MOQ and sourcing
Specialized fabrics, custom colors, mesh matching and bonded or flatlock operations can affect MOQ and lead time. Using an available performance knit for the first sample can validate pattern and construction before committing to a custom-dyed bulk material.
Claims and testing
Terms such as moisture-wicking, antibacterial or recycled should not be used as unsupported marketing language.
